II. Answer the following questions:

Ans: Because if he complained about his loose tooth, his aunt would pull it out.

Ans: Sid advised Tom not to groan like that because it was terrible.

3. Why did Aunt Polly not believe Tom?

Ans : Aunt Polly did not believe Tom because she knew that he was lying.

Ans : Tom was trying to skip school. So Aunt Polly calls Tom a bad boy.

Ans : She tied one end of the thread to Tom’s tooth and the other end to the bed-post. She took the piece of coal and suddenly pushed it almost into boy’s face. Tom quickly pulled his head back and the tooth was out.
